Altitude Forestry is headquartered in Larkspur Colorado, servicing the Rocky Mountains in New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming and Montana.   Operating logging operations, fire mitigation teams, forest thinning projects, scrub oak removal, forest restoration and creating defensible spaces for home owners in rural areas. 

Altitude Forestry is familiar with operating in Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI) areas.  We are well versed in fuel modifications in these sensitive zones and operate with the greatest of care when it comes to cultural and historical sites, habitat sensitivity and old growth trees.  We know that people live in rural areas for privacy and always keep that in mind when it comes to mitigating a property.   

Altitude Forestry was formed in 2019 by Tyler Matthews. Mr. Matthews grew up in Bailey Colorado and went to College in Steamboat Springs Colorado for Wilderness studies. He spent 20 plus years in the corporate sector managing wholesale distribution centers. His knowledge of the wilderness of Colorado coupled with his exceptional business, management and leadership skills are what make Altitude Forestry a success.

Living in the mountains of Colorado his entire life  Mr. Matthews has seen first hand the damage and destruction wildfires can cause to private property, government property and in the lives of his friends, family and neighbors.   Altitude Forestry is committed to fire-wise fire mitigation and will do everything in its ability to protect the forest and environment while making it a safer place for generations to come.
